Nguyễn Anh Đức từng là diễn viên của một số nhà hát tại Hà Nội trước khi tham gia thực tập và làm việc trong đoàn múa Ballet Atlantique của Regine Chopinot. Sau khi trở về nước, năm 2006 Đức lập ra nhóm múa +84 cùng hai người bạn, bắt đầu các hoạt động sáng tác độc lập và những thể nghiệm với múa đương đại. Đức đã tham gia biểu diễn tại nhiều nước, tham dự nhiều các festival quốc tế như Avignon Festival, Bremen Festival, UME Dance Biennial …Anh quan tâm tới sự khác biệt của mỗi diễn viên và cách họ sử dụng sự khác biệt đó để tương tác với môi trường xung quanh.

SISU percussion ensemble, established 1993, is one of Scandinavia’s most prominent contemporary music ensembles. They represent contemporary music of the highest quality, written for SISU by both Norwegian and international composers.

With 20 years worth of experience from the Norwegian and international music scene, SISU is an artistic driving force when it comes to percussion. The initial vantage point for SISU is contemporary music. SISU is a flexible ensemble both in terms of musical expression and composition.

SISU has been represented at all the major festivals for contemporary music in Norway, and was invited as special guest to the first contemporary music festival in South Africa in 2000. The ensemble has officially represented Norway on occasions abroad, and has received several national cultural grants. In 2001 SISU received The Norwegian Society of Composers’ honourable prize for performing musicians.

Born in Lower Saxony/Germany in 1964, Burkhard Beins is a composer/performer working in the fields of experimental music and sound art he is known for his definitive use of percussion in combination with selected objects. Furthermore he works with electronics, electro-acoustic instruments, and devices . Since the late 1980’s he performs at internationally renowned venues and festivals throughout Europe, America, Asia, and Australia. He works solo or in collaboration with musicians like Keith Rowe, Sven-Åke Johansson, Chris Abrahams, John Tilbury, or Charlemagne Palestine. He is also a member of several long-standing experimental music groups such as Activity Center, Polwechsel, Mensch Mensch Mensch, Perlonex, The Sealed Knot, Phosphor, Trio Sowari, and Splitter Orchester. Burkhard Beins lives in Berlin since 1995.

Born in1981 Đức Minh learned music from the age of 8 years. He was studying at the traditional music department of Việt Nam National Academy of Music. In 2004 he started to work and study Jew Harp, an instrument of ethnic minorities in Vietnam and became one of the pioneering musicians to bring ethnic music to the Vietnamese and international audiences. In 2006 Duc Minh was studying with professor of music ethnology Tran Quang Hai and had study times in Museum de l’home – Paris. That same year, he has become a member of the International Society of Jew’s Harp. 2006 was also the year Duc Minh joined the World Festival of Jew’s Harp in Amsterdam, The Netherlands and was selected as one of four artists with the most successful performances at this festival. Nguyen Duc Minh attended to more than 20 international projects and festivals.

Henrik Frisk is an active performer (saxophones and laptop) of improvised and contemporary music and a composer of acoustic and computer music. With a special interest in interactivity, most of the projects he engages in explore interactivity in one way or another. Interaction was also the main topic for his artistic PhD dissertation ‘Improvisation, Computers, and Interaction’ which was presented at the Malmö Academy of Music, Lund University in October 2008. Henrik has performed in many countries in Europe, North America and Asia including performances at prestigious festivals. As a composer he has received commissions from many institutions, ensembles and musicians. He has made numerous recordings for American, Canadian, Swedish and Danish record labels and is currently a member of the collective Kopasetic Productions which is an independent label owned and run by improvising musicians. Henrik Frisk is also a renowned teacher, currently associate professor at the Malmö Academy of Music, Lund University and as Research Associate at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm. As a visiting lecturer he has given lectures at several schools and universities.

Kim Ngoc is a Hanoi – based composer. After her studies in Cologne Germany, Kim Ngoc develops her own language by lots of interdisciplinary live-performances and music – theater compositions. Her recent works include ‘The Absence’ which was commissioned and produced by 10th Munich Biennale Festival 2006; ‘What Makes The Spider Spin Her Web’ – Euro-premier at Ultima Festival, Olso, Norway in October 2008, ‘Together Alone’ – at Mehrklang Festival, Freiburg, Germany in May 2010, ‘My Chau’s World’ premiered by Musik Fabrik in June 2011, ‘Move’ is a collaboration of her and The Six Tones within the frame of Music Gesture project 2011. Since then Kim Ngoc was building up an idea to establish a center for experimental music and art in Hanoi. The center has been put it in motion at the beginning of 2013 named DomDom – The Hub for Experimental Music & Art.

Lotte Anker was born in 1958 in Copenhagen. She is a Danish jazz saxophonist and composer and known for her intense playing and among the most significant saxplayers in the improvisation, new music and experimental scene in Scandinavia. Lotte Anker worked with numerous improvisers and ensembles like the highly acclaimed trio anker, taborn, cleaver (with Craig Taborn and Gerald Cleaver), other trios: with Fred Frith & Ikue Mori, with Joelle Leandre & Raymond Strid and duos with Sten Sandell, Fred Frith, Fred Lonberg-Holm and Jakob Riis.

Furthermore from 2010 she was the leader of the 8-piece group: What River Ensemble. Lotte Ankers Compositional work includes music for both small groups and large ensemble.
Her activities have thus far led her to important festivals in most of Europe, USA, Canada, Asia, Africa and the Middle-East. She has been nominated for Nordic Council Musicprize in 2011.

Anker/Taborn/Cleaver- Floating Islands

Ngô Trà My studied at the Hanoi National Conservatory of Music, where she received her diploma in 1994 and a pedagogical exam in 2007. Since 1994 she teaches the Dan Bau at the conservatory in Hanoi. She has performed at festivals in China, Spain, Korea, Scandinavia and Vietnam and has recorded one CD as soloist with orchestra: Loi ru que huong (Lullaby of the Native Land) – 2001. Since 2008 she is Board Member of the Asian/Korean Orchestra. With The Six Tones, she has toured in Europe, Asia and the USA.

Nguyễn Đình Nghĩa, aka Bờm, is a self-taught musician. He was born in an artist family with his father and his granddad are very well known poets of Hanoi. Bờm played with classic rock and heavy-metal bands. The first one he played with, which was actually his first band, was called Zigzag. At the same time, he also played with Golim, a feminist punk band formed by his sister Nga Nhi. And now, Bờm playing with a nu-metal band call Alive In Sight. With those bands, Bờm played their original songs at several important events in Vietnam such as Rock Storm, CAMA festival…

Bờm started to play improvisation contemporary music since 2011 with Nguyen Manh Hung and Vu Nhat Tan.

Nguyen Manh Hung is a contemporary visual art and sound artist. In the field of art, Hung is known for bringing a fresh, original perspective to the visual arts in Vietnam and, while he focuses on painting, also creates artwork in sculpture, installation art and experimental music performances.He has used a variety of picks with his guitar, from traditional guitar picks, ebow, and other found objects. Hung has experiences of playing improvisatory with different groups and composing music for contemporary dance pieces.
Hung received his training at the Fine Art University of Vietnam and has participated, both solo and in a group, in several important concerts and exhibitions in Vietnam and abroad such as Hanoi New Music Meeting, Fete de la Musique, Street Symphony, Dai Lam Linh…
